Executive Staff

Rev. Terry King
Executive Director

Rev. King is the founder and Chairman of the Board for Saving Grace Ministries, Inc. Rev. King founded SGM, Inc. in 1999 after he became painfully aware of the lack of coordinated services available for men who are released from prison. As Agency Executive Director, Rev. King oversees the day-to-day operation of the “Grace House” Transitional Residence Program, a transitional housing program for unaccompanied homeless adult males who are under supervision by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Rev. King supervises a staff of 20, which includes an Associate Director, six case managers, facility caretakers, and other executive and administrative staff.

George Alexander
Associate Director

George Alexander is the Associate Director of Saving Grace Ministries, Inc. in Buffalo. He has 32 years of experience in criminal justice; he is the former Commissioner of Erie County Probation and Youth Detention Services, and was the Chairman and CEO of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Buffalo State College and at Erie Community College. He is a graduate of Medaille College and Buffalo State College.

Sheryl King
President, Board of Directors

Mrs. Sheryl King is the President and Secretary of the Board of Directors, and is also a founding member of the Board. Sheryl is a Social Worker at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, where she coordinates discharge planning with patients in need of residential health care. Sheryl provides ongoing assistance in applying best practices to case management and program service provision.

Alyssa M. Gross
Corporate General Counsel

Alyssa joined the SGM staff in February of 2006 as an intern, becoming the Corporate Compliance Officer in May of 2006.  Upon graduation from law school, she became the agency’s Corporate General Counsel.  Alyssa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University at Buffalo Law School.  She oversees the legal and contract compliance for each of the eight contracts under which SGM, Inc. currently provides services.  Her academic interests center around innovative programming for the supervision of high-risk and high-needs clients in-community.  In addition to working at SGM, Inc., she is a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Erie County.  She attends Love Joy Gospel Church in Lancaster, New York.

Independent Auditor

 

 

Liz Leitner
Bookkeeper

Liz Leitner joined the SGM staff in August of 2007 as a part-time bookkeeper.  She has become an integral part of the SGM administrative team, overseeing the day-to-day fiscal operations of the agency and working with independent auditor Alan Jeff to complete SGM’s annual audit.  Her attention to detail, understanding of the various agency contracts, and commitment to integrity have been a tremendous asset to the agency.  Liz attends and is a very active member of Congregation B'rith Hadoshah in Buffalo.

Eric Sperrazza
Executive Administrative Assistant

Eric Sperrazza joined the SGM staff in August of this year as Executive Administrative Assistant. Eric will be spending the next several months learning about the various program and reporting requirements for each of SGM’s contracts and will ultimately be responsible for overseeing data reporting, assisting with fiscal oversight, and assuring continued compliance with all contract requirements.

Prior to accepting the position with SGM, Eric worked in environmental and demolition fields for 20 years, in various capacities. Eric brings with him his experience in project management, having overseen large-scale projects from start to finish, supervising 20+ staff members. Additionally, Eric has knowledge of security systems, computer networking, and multiple computer systems. He and his family attend church at Evangel Assembly of God.
